Logo Design

Graphic Design
Project Overview
One of my favorite challenges in design is taking a thought, idea, or any other concept and somehow creating a visual representation out of it. Logos are one of the most eye-catching and expansive ways to do this, as they are meant to visually capture the entire identity of a brand. This can make logos a very personal project to these clients, so I take care in deeply understanding their goals, audience, and vision to properly capture it in a single design.
EXPO Designers
Modern
Mature
Professional
Economical
EXPO Designers is a furniture rental service that provides a quality catalog of options for conventions and venues all while keeping prices low. Their founders were looking for a simple, modern, and professional logo to reflect the top-tier services of the company.

After the initial interview I sketched up a few different ideas, making use of the structure and edges of the text. The founders were excited by the exploration of the E in expo, as well as the simple box surrounding the word as it reflected the mature and modern take the brand was going for. I made digital mockups of each version, each with its own small tweaks, and explored some different variations in color. After these rounds of iterating the founders were most excited about the box design and chose that to be their official logo, which is still used today.
Ascent Integrated Tech
High-Tech

First Responder
Protection
Ascent Integrated Tech is a startup building technology for first responders to increase their awareness and provide insights to command to keep them safe when it matters most. They wanted their logo to reflect the protective nature of these heroes, and to represent the cutting-edge technology being developed for them.

Through the initial interview, I learned that mountain theming was something they wanted to explore to drive the "Ascent" part of their company, as well as elements of protectiveness and security. I sketched out and created mockups exploring both of these, which eventually led to the focus of "protectiveness" entirely through the shield design. In the end, we finalized a logo featuring the "protective" shield (including a line at the top to further represent the commanders they were building for), as well as an arrow hidden in its negative space to still represent the "ascent" of the company. Overall they were very satisfied with the outcome, and still use this logo today that is now recognized by first responders across the country.
